Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-assisted biliary access is utilized when conventional endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) fails. We report a 10-year experience utilizing a transduodenal EUS rendezvous via a transpapillary route without dilation of the transduodenal tract, followed by immediate ERCP access.
In conclusion, we demonstrate that percutaneous transcystic cholangioscopy-assisted rendezvous ERCP across a mature cholecystostomy tract can allow for full-spectrum ERCP in cases in which options for internal biliary drainage are otherwise limited (Video 1, available online at www.giejournal.org). 2012-01-01 2004-01-01 Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided main pancreatic duct (MPD) access is an available option (step approach) after failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) from various reasons such as difficult MPD cannulation from tight stenosis, large stone, pancreas diversum or post-surgical stricture. 1,2. There are two major EUS-guided MPD interventions, namely, rendezvous technique EUS and ERCP. Endoscopic ultrasound. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is similar to a standard upper endoscopy procedure.

The simplest technique included in this stage is EUS-guided rendezvous. 2017-06-21 ary drainage was reported for the first time (10). EUS-guided rendezvous (EUS-RV) techniques were first reported in 2004 by Mallery (11). Recently, EUS-RV has been re-ported as an effective salvage technique after failed ERCP. 2016-08-16 Conclusions: EUS-rendezvous provided safe and reliable transpapillary bile duct access after failed ERCP cannulation.
Background and study aim Endoscopic ultrasound-guided rendezvous (EUS-RV) is increasingly reported as a treatment option after failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. We developed a novel "hitch-and-ride" catheter for biliary cannulation to reduce the risk of guidewire loss during EUS-RV.
abled various endoscopic ultrasound-related diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to be performed, such as fine-needle aspiration (FNA) (7), pancreatic pseudocyst drainage (8), and celiac plexus neurolysis (9). In 2001, EUS-guided bili-ary drainage was reported for the first time (10).
Rendezvous techniques, either percutaneous or EUS-guied, were required for endoscopic access in the other 9 patients. Complications included moderate pancreatitis with retroperitoneal air after percutaneous rendezvous access in 1 patient, and fever in 1 patient.

"In situations where ERCP cannot be performed due to blockage or narrowing of the duodenum or if the opening of the bile duct, the ampulla, cannot be accessed, then the rendezvous procedure can be useful. This is also when knowing how to perform both EUS and ERCP can be extremely advantageous. Rendezvous ERCP via endoscopic ultrasound-guided gallbladder drainage to salvage a dislodged lumen-apposing metal stent during choledochoduodenostomy A patient with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma underwent combined endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine nee-dle aspiration (EUS-FNA) and endoscopic biliary drainage. Tumor involvement of a
Conclusions: EUS is a feasible technique for allowing rendezvous drainage of obstructed biliary or pancreatic ducts through native papillae or anastomoses after initially unsuccessful ERCP. AB - Background: Only a few cases have been reported of EUS-guided drainage of …
EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound): Diagnostic and interventional EUS services and includes evaluating pancreaticobiliary diseases, neoplasms including sub-epithelial tumors, cancer diagnosis and staging, pseudocyst drainage, peri-rectal pelvic abscesses drainage, Fiducials placement for image-guided radiation therapy, rendezvous access for biliary and pancreatic duct access and drainage in complex
The EUS-guided rendezvous procedure (EUS-RV) has emerged as a rescue procedure for patients with failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and biliary drainage. 1 We have also shown EUS-RV to be an acceptable alternative to precut papillotomy in patients with difficult bile duct cannulation.

Complications included moderate pancreatitis with retroperitoneal air after percutaneous rendezvous access in 1 patient, and fever in 1 patient. Among these, rendezvous technique seems to be the safest of all EUS-guided procedure at the expense of a not excellent success rate (from 44% to 80%) and with the limit of the need of a accessible papilla by endoscopy.8 These limitations are overcome by direct transluminal EUS-guided approach as hepaticogastrostomy and choledochoduodenostomy that also ensure a 1-stage procedure. RENDEZVOUS ERCP (EUS‐RV) •The overall reported success rates was 82 % •Complication rate=10 % •Approach for EUS‐RV the left intrahepatic duct (LIHD) can be punctured from the stomach The extrahepatic approach can be done with scope position in D1 or D2. 2009-02-10 injection modification from the standard EUS rendezvous technique.
